Day 49 of 365 day blog! COLOR! What does color mean to you? The definition of color is the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light. What a mouthful. Colors have the ability to express a feeling or an emotion all by itself. Take this latest pastel painting of mine, the blue in the winter sky gives a feeling of coolness, calm and quiet. There are interior designers that work in color, for a living, mixing and matching different colors to evoke certain feelings and emotions that are appealing and inviting. Red evokes a feeling of dominance and power. Yellow evokes a feeling of brightness and cheerfulness. Green gives off the feeling of freshness, harmony, nature, and growth. The color purple is often associated with royalty, luxury, wealth, mystery and magic. Black is the darkest color because of the complete absorption of light, the opposite of white. Black evokes fear, evil, death, rebellion and sophistication. White, on the other hand, evokes purity, cleanliness, goodness and innocence. Color is so meaningful and an important aspect of our lives! Life without color would be dreadful!!! Comments?
